When a skilled injector is analyzing a face and deciding what type of filler to use, there is more to just the “pretty name” of the filler, the latest one to hit the market, or the one that is “on sale”.
You have to consider the property and make up of the HA (hyaluronic acid) gel filler. Some fillers offer more support and need to be sturdy to be able to lift or hold, others are soft and smooth for more delicate areas. It’s not desirable to put an overly firm support filler in the lip, and conversely a soft silky filler in the cheek area that won’t be able to offer the support or lift you are trying to achieve.
There isn’t a “one size fits all areas” filler. We want to consider expression and movement but also be aware of support and softness.
Here in the US we have about 15 fillers to choose from. These are all FDA approved for parts of the face that they will offer the best result in. It is also important to remember that each syringe of filler is 1 ml. Although this small amount can make beautiful significant changes, it is not able to make improvements over the entire face with just one syringe. Focusing on an area and treating it completely to the desired outcome is recommended instead of “spreading” the filler all over the face and therefore not being able to enhance the area you were hoping to.
Here at La Chelé, our skilled artistic medical injectors pride themselves on knowing the products and tools we have to help benefit and enhance the face for a more beautiful you!
