Ellacor Micro-Coring

The device is part of an exciting, new division in the Aesthetic world called micro-coring. Get ready to treat your skin from an entirely different perspective.
What is Micro-Coring?
Micro-coring essentially removes sagging skin without the need for surgery. The device stamps sections of the face to remove tiny micro-cores of skin using small needles, 0.5mm in diameter. The size and design of the needles eliminates the possibility of surface level scaring. After the treatment, the body will naturally start rebuild and replace the removed cores of skin with new skin with improved skin architecture, resulting in a tighter, smoother appearance and a major reduction of moderate to severe wrinkles. The advanced hollow needles remove up to 8% of skin, with 81 skin “cores” removed per click at up to 4mm depth. The idea is very similar to the concept of skin biopsies that don’t require stitches and heal without any scarring. Ellacor is the only FDA-cleared procedure to remove excess skin non-surgically.
How long does Micro-Coring take?
The comprehensive numbing process typically takes 20 minutes. By completely numbing the treatment zone, patients typically feel it is even less painful than fillers. Micro-coring typically lasts 30-45 minutes at most, based on the size of the treatment area. About 2 square inches of skin will be removed during a typical treatment.
How do I know if I am a candidate for Ellacor?
The ideal candidate for this treatment is someone looking for results-based skin tightening for the mid/lower face and neck, but is not yet ready for or seeking surgery. It’s currently FDA-approved for skin types Fitzpatrick I-IV. FDA Clinical studies are currently underway to expand the treatment of skin types.
What is the downtime for Micro-Coring?
There is no heat involved, so the skin often time heals very quickly quickly. The average immediate healing time of removed cores is about 3 days. After treatment, there may be some redness, swelling, tightness, peeling, or stamp/circular marks on the skin. Noticeable marks may completely disappear by day 7 or last for several weeks depending on the intensity of the treatment performed.
Which areas can be treated with Micro-Coring?
Typically we use this treatment for the mid to lower face region; however, Ellacor is being performed nationally off-label in the arms, legs, & neck.
What sets Ellacor apart?
There are various types of skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and overall skin improvement. These methods typically use heat in addition to stamping. Ellacor is a heatless device, allowing for quicker downtime and healing. There’s no thermal injury resulting in minimal downtime. The comfort level is manageable during treatment.Since there is no pulling back of the skin like a in a surgical facelift, results can be much more natural looking. Those looking for a surgical result should still have surgery, but Ellacor is a far less invasive alternative with noticeable results and high patient satisfaction.
How can I be prepared for my Ellacor treatment?
Two weeks before your Ellacor treatment, we ask that you avoid other invasive procedures in the same treatment area. Try not to consume any blood thinning medications, and avoid the sun. One day before the treatment, we ask that you shave any excess facial hair.If you are on blood thinners, it is advised to be off for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
How long does it take to see results from Ellacor?
Within as short as a few weeks, skin changes can become apparent as the skin is firmer and smoother. Some initial photos are done at one month, and many can already see tightening. As with all non-invasive skin procedures, it takes 3-6 months to see the full collagen development and healing of the micro-columns.
What is the post-procedure care for Ellacor?
At La Chelé, we apply exosomes immediately following treatment to expedite healing and outcomes. You must avoid sun exposure for the week following treatment. Post-procedure favorite products recommended include our La Chele Line Free, Plated exosomes,TNS Growth factors, or Alastin. We ask that you gently wash the area twice daily with a mild cleanser and water, no scrubbing. White petroleum is advised in the first 72 hours. On day four, you can start to use SPFOn days 5-7, you can wear makeup.
How many times do I need to treat with Ellacor to achieve the best results?
We often recommend following the clinical studies which performed a series of up to three Ellacor treatments one month apart. However, we customize your treatment plan to you, and many are thrilled even after one treatment. Ellacor was presented at the 2019 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery to give a 90% improvement in moderate or severe wrinkles within six months of up to three treatments, and 86% of patients reported being “satisfied” or “extremely satisfied” with their results.
