How is CoolSculpting done?

The idea that cold can selectively affect fat led to the innovative cooling process developed by scientists at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), then die. Over time, your body naturally eliminates them, leaving a more sculpted you.

When you are here in our body contouring lab, our medical professional will place the applicator on desired area(s) and you will be comfortable to watch Netflix, scroll online, or relax! You’ll feel a cooling sensation and then the treatment area will become numb for the remainder of the treatment.

Which is better CoolSculpting or Liposuction?

CoolSculpting and liposuction are both permanent solutions to fat reduction. However, CoolSculpting is a fully non-invasive procedure, where liposuction is a far more invasive option. Instead of removing the fat through surgery, CoolSculpting freezes your fat calls which allows the body to naturally eliminate them over the next few months.

Does CoolSculpting get rid of cellulite?

We have various treatment modalities that target cellulite more directly like MORPHEUS8 and Aveli.

How long does CoolSculpting Take?

A CoolSculpting® treatment typically takes as little as 35-75 minutes, depending on the area treated, with treatment sessions lasting 1-3 hours on average. For most patients, two or more treatment sessions are recommended to help reach their body contouring goals.

How long before CoolSculpting Works?

You will see your maximized results at 3 months after your last treatment. We highly recommend treating each area at least two times.

Coolsculpting and CoolSculpting Elite are FDA-cleared for 9 areas of the body

CoolSculpting® is cleared to eliminate stubborn fat under the jawline, under the chin, the upper arms, back fat, bra fat, the flank area (love handles), abdomen, thighs, and under the buttocks (banana roll).

What are the risks of CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting released its flagship device in 2010. Since then, the machine has undergone multiple redesigns and improvements. PAH (Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia) is a side effect reported mainly on the original version of the device. With each new generation device throughout the past decade the incidence has reduced.  At La Chele Medical we are proud to carry the newest Elite Fleet of Coolsculpting devices that have not been linked to PAH.

What is PAH?

Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia is the appearance of fatty tissue – 1-9 months post-treatment – showing as a dense thickness shaped directly as the applicator and where it was placed during treatment.  It is extremely rare, and not generalized fat.
