La Chelé Medical Aesthetics is extremely excited to bring the FDA approved Sciton BBL and HALO laser treatments to you!

What is BBL?

BBL stands for Broad Band Light. This advanced phototherapy treatment uses light technology to combat sun spots, brown pigmentation, redness, and broken capillaries. Recommended in a series of three to five, this treatment is very effective in bringing back youth to the skin from the years of repeated sun damage. Our BBL treatment consists of minimal downtime which includes 2-3 days of sunburn-like redness and or swelling. We do not recommend sun exposure for 1-2 weeks post treatment. Keeping the skin safe from the sun and protected in a physical sunscreen will enhance the results. We recommend the Elta MD line of non-chemical sunscreens sold right in our La Chelé locations!

What is HALO?

HALO fractional laser technology targets the deep dermis and epidermis to pin-point skin damage at the source. This hybrid fractional laser is the first on the market to allow the skin to receive both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. These wavelengths help treat fine lines & wrinkles, acne scarring, large pores and more. Different from traditional fractional lasers, HALO laser is able to treat all skin types. For any discomfort, La Chelé Medical Aesthetics offers a topical numbing agent to be applied before any scheduled HALO appointment. While most fractional lasers require multiple treatments, the HALO laser is typically done in 1-2 sessions for optimal results. Since the HALO laser is more ablative than the BBL, the downtime consists of 1 week of redness (similar to a severe sunburn), swelling and peeling. The downtime is minimal compared to a traditional fractional laser.

Can I combine BBL and HALO together?

Yes, and we recommend it! There are many benefits when combing the BBL and HALO laser into one single treatment. This two-in-one treatment combats sun damage, brown pigmentation, broken capillaries, fine lines & wrinkles, texture and more! The esthetician will treat with the BBL light therapy first. Then we will topically numb the skin. After the numbing, we will begin the HALO laser treatment. These two treatments in combination produce better results and help with promoting new collagen. A series of two is recommended for this combined treatment.
