Are skincare ingredients overwhelming to you? Well, we’re here to help make it easy!
I’m sure you’ve heard of the words Glycolic or Salicylic in many of your skincare moisturizers, toners, acne fighting products and even cleansers. But what do they do? And would your skin benefit from them?
Both of these ingredients are acids. Acids can help exfoliate the skin and excel cell turnover for a youthful glow.
Salicylic Acid is otherwise known as BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). This acid dries up unnecessary oils, clears pores and combats acne breakouts by reducing any redness or aggravated pimples. If you are someone with oily, inflamed acne prone skin then this is the ingredient for you to add into your skincare regimen! You may use this product morning and/or night.
Glycolic Acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). This acid is adequate for exfoliation. This acid can also help acne prone skin by reducing breakouts, combat fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and clear out pores. If you are someone with dull skin, clogged pores and fine lines then this is the ingredient for you to add into your skincare regimen! Since this ingredient increases your skins sensitivity to the sun, we recommend applying it at night time only.
It is absolutely okay to use both of these products together. We recommend trying our SkinMedica AHA/ BHA exfoliating cleanser or La Chelé Acne Correction Pads to get the best of both worlds with these skin perfecting acids!
If you are in need of an acne spot treatment with Salicylic Acid, we recommend trying our very own La Chelé and Instant Spot Treatment.
If you are looking to incorporate Salicylic Acid into your daily regimen, we recommend trying La Chelé Clarifying Cleanser, Obaji Daily Foaming Cleanser, and Obaji Pore Therapy.
If you are looking for combating fine lines, wrinkles, and cell turnover with Glycolic Acid, we recommend trying La Chelé 10% Glycolic Pads ( does not need to be applied daily; please review product directions before applying). La Chelé also carries a Glycolic body treatment called GA 15 Body Lotion.
Remember, skincare treatments such as Botox, facials, lasers and more all start at home! Using the correct products will make these treatments work and last that much better.
