Sculptra® Dermal Filler is a facial injectable treatment that gradually replaces collagen lost during the aging process. It corrects shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles over a series of 3-4 treatments.

Collagen is a key structural component that keeps skin youthful looking and smooth. As you age, your body’s collagen production decreases, and you may begin to see wrinkles. Sculptra Aesthetic works to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds,* as it replaces lost collagen, which can help provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance.

Sculptra Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra trained physician. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.

Within the deep dermis, your skin’s structure is reinforced as Sculptra Aesthetic helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness of your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds* that has been depleted over time. The result? Sculptra Aesthetic is different because it gradually and subtly corrects these facial wrinkles. This can provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance that can last up to two years.**

How long until you see results from Sculptra? / How long does it take for Sculptra to take effect?
Results can be seen instantly, however it can take up to 3 months to see the full effect. Patients should be aware that within a few days post treatment the area treated will slowly dissipate in volume while the body gradually restores the collagen over the next 6 weeks to 3 months.

How many injections of Sculptra are needed?
Most patients require 2 Sculptra sessions however it is based on anatomy and desired results.

How often can Sculptra be injected?
We recommend waiting 6 weeks between injections.

Can I inject Sculptra myself?
No. Sculptra injections should only be administered by a trained licensed medical professional.

How to prepare for Sculptra injections?
We recommend stopping any NSAIDS a few days prior to treatment (with approval from your doctor if medically necessary) to help reduce the chance of bruising. Alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours before treatment as it can increase the risk of bruising. Some patients find taking Arnica supplements a few days prior and post treatment help decrease bruising.

What should you not do after Sculptra?
You should avoid make up for 24 hours post treatment, professional facial massages for two weeks as well as UV, sun lamps and saunas. Sleeping on your back or in an elevated position is recommended and can help reduce swelling. Patients should avoid taking NSAIDS such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen as it can increase the risk of bruising. (Tylenol or Acetaminophen may be taken for relief instead.) Patients should avoid strenuous activities for the first 24 hours to avoid the risk of bruising and should refrain from skin tightening or laser procedures for at least 3 weeks post Sculptra injections.

What to expect after Sculptra injections?
There can be slight swelling, bruising, or tenderness in the treatment area however, this is completely normal for the first few days. Swelling may make the area appear asymmetrical but this will improve as swelling decreases. Facial massages as instructed by your provider should be administered for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days in the treatment area. The area may decrease in volume post treatment while the body re-builds and restores the collagen over the next few weeks.

Where can you inject Sculptra?
Most patients treat their temples, however areas typically include the jawline, cheeks and structural areas on the face. Sculptra can also be used on the body like the buttocks.

Does Sculptra work for hip dips?
Yes! Sculptra is able to replace lost volume by temporarily restoring volume for up to 25 months in certain areas of the body including hip dips. The number of injection sessions needed will vary from person to person and is based on anatomy as well as desired results.
